Chitwan National park is locked in South central part of Nepal this National park has an area about 1000 square kilometers it is land of sub tropical lowland forest of the inner Terai. Which is 180km from Kathmandu and 120km from Pokhara. It is famous place for wildlife activities in 1984 it is declared UNESCO Natural Heritage site.
The Chitwan is become a main destination explore the part of the shivalik hills, is covered with deciduous forests overlooking the flood plains of Narayani river ,Rapti river and Reu river and it offering a wilderness os rich ecosystem that includes Mammals ,Birds ,Rrptiles and water Animals. There are more then 600 species plants, more then 68 mammals, 544 birds and 56 amphibians and reptiles can explore in the park.
The highhlight of this park are the 412 Asian one horned Rhinoceros and more then 93 Royal Bengal Tigers that live in this dense forests of the park. The park is sharing home for other Leopards , Gaur, wild boar, deer, monkey, Langur (monkey) and wild cat. In chitwan can fine many different types of snakes the python,while the river areas breed reptiles like the endangered long shouted Gharial popularly know as Gangetic Crocodiles and Marsh Crocdieles . Chitwan is large sub-tropical forest offers many unique birds flycatcher,Indian pitta, waterfowl ,ducks, bar-headed geese, cormorant, and migratory birds from Tibet and Siberia.The other differents birds woodpeckers,hornsbilld,peacocks and redheaded trogons etc…the Narayani river is famouse place to watch the fresh water Dolphin.
